Responsibilities

- Development of innovative area and space lighting systems based on newest light emitting technologies
- Technical responsibility on the illumination / optical design work to develop, model and analyze illumination systems including reflectors, light pipes and other non-imaging devices to fulfil customer requirements
- Provide customized analysis and design of optical systems for different design applications
- Use CAE analysis while developing and maintaining timing of engineering tasks to support program milestones
- Interact with other internal development centers to assure innovation for current and future developments
- Performing failure analysis and problem resolutions related to illumination
- Evaluate and recommend necessary design changes or other solutions to improve quality to reduce costs

Requirements

- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, physics or a related field is required for employment
- Strong CAD background, preferably utilizing a surface based modeler
- At least 3 years’ experience.
- Automotive experience is preferred
- Experience with ray trace simulation programs and a solid understanding of different types of illumination systems are required
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that specifically include the ability to concisely and accurately communicate technical information
- Familiarity and experience with FEA preferred
- English language allowing smooth communication with peers in other countries
