Health and Safety Manager

Location: Warszawa

The Role Responsibilities
- Develop (in conjunction with the country management team) and implement a Country H&S Management System with the main objectives of identification & mitigation of H&S risks; compliance with the applicable local legal requirements and SCB policies.
- Manage the implementation of regulatory H&S risk-assessments, H&S committee meetings, first-aid and fire marshals, evacuations, ergonomics/DSE among others.
- Plan and run the annual safety and security week, and all other campaigns initiated by Group Safety and Security department.
- Maintain Property Function-Dispensation/Exemption Management in the event that H&S arrangements do not meet the requirements of the Bank's standards.
- Implement a process, for reporting, investigating and applying corrective actions for H&S accidents in accordance with the requirements of local legislations and SCB policies.
- Provide professional advice, training and liaison to ensure that employees at all levels understand their responsibilities and help them to conduct their activities in a safe manner with due regard to the environment in which they work.
- Champion Wellbeing and Mental Health initiatives and act as the property's champion.
- Provide locally verified (OHS) training to existing staff and new joiners.
- Develop and maintain a H&S legal compliance register. This register is to include details on how compliance with National OH&S legislations will be achieved.
- Where National OH&S is not specific or that the Bank's requirements are more stringent, ensure compliance with relevant Group Safety standards; ensure that controls required for managing H&S related operational risks are in place.
- Maintain a H&S audit and assessment programme to assess compliance with SCB Standards and local legal requirements. Provide professional advice, recommendations for corrective action and monitor closure of corrective actions.
- Ensure conformity of suites to the SCB Workstation Ergonomics and Task Chair Standard and manage the DSE requirements in line with the bank's standard and local legislations.
- Ensure statutory compliance of all life safety equipment by regular verification of the Landlord's maintenance records.
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Lead the team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate
- An appropriate OHS related degree or NEBOSH International Diploma.
- Meet the qualifications and skills required by the Regulation of The Council of Ministers of 2 September 1997 On Security and Health at Work.
- Polish and English - good written and verbal skills (sound grammar and attention to detail in written communication).
- Great presentation skills and knowledge of polish labour code.
